With deep family roots, Anthea Tjanakis and Ian Cox knew they wanted their August 6, 2011, wedding at a private residence in Neskowin to honor generations past. “Ian is Chilean and I’m Greek, so we’ve both grown up with extremely close families,” Anthea explains. “It was one of the things we really connected over when we first met each other.” In a nod to that connection and to the lineage they cherish, they gathered and framed vintage photos of their family members—some going back five generations!—and went beyond a simple table display. “It seemed like a fun choice, using a real tree for our family tree,” she laughs. Climbing up the trunk and reaching out on a branch, the images came to life in a stunning tableau at the celebration.
