With fall just around the corner, it's almost my favorite time of year: jewel-tone season! The Old Schoolhouse's rustic (but not too rustic) charm provides an elegant backdrop for this gorgeous jewel-toned styled shoot coordinated by J29 Events. One of my favorite details of the entire tableau is the swath of peacock feathers hanging from the chandelier. There's an inherent eclecticism about the feathers themselves, which imbue the vintage-inspired uplight chandelier with a touch of whimsy that makes for the perfect amount of unique glam. A Sugar Cubed Cake Creations forest green three-tier cake dotted with cream cutouts and two delicate pastel flowers is a welcome departure from the ubiquitous all-white minimalist cake trend. As always, Ponderosa & Thyme delivers with a cascading, undone stunner of a bouquet that's almost Christmas-y in its rich pinks, reds, and evergreen sprigs. "The inspiration for this shoot came from the venue itself. The Old Schoolhouse is a gorgeous and unique new venue in the Portland area. I was inspired by its dramatic and enchanting look and wanted to style a shoot that showcased the venue's original features. Nicole from J29 events ran with the idea of jewel tones and created a beautiful scene that included a tablescape full of color and lush foliage from Ponderosa and Thyme. The dramatic and elegant look of this shoot highlighted the authenticity of this repurposed Oregon venue."
