What types of bridal wear do you offer (gowns, formalwear, flower girl dresses, accessories, etc)?
At Vivienne-Brielle, we design and create custom gowns for brides, as well as for attendants and mothers of the bride or groom.
Which bridal gown designers do you carry?
All of our bridal gowns are designed by Vivienne-Brielle.
What is your philosophy towards working with brides?
Our goal is to create a dress that reflects a bride’s personality, flatters her physique and functions well throughout the entire wedding celebration. Whether traditional or avant-garde, a bride’s gown should be as unique and special as she is.
Our design process begins with the bride. How does she want to feel? What image does she want to project? What does she want to accentuate? What does she want to minimize? How does she want to move? What clothing features does she love? What clothing features does she try to avoid?
From that information, we prepare one or more designs, each with suggested fabrics. Determining the final design and fabrics is a collaborative process involving the bride and Vivienne-Brielle.
Do you require an appointment?
Appointments are needed for consultations and fittings at the Vivienne-Brielle design studio, as well as for consultations and fittings conducted by Skype (for those who are not in our area). No appointments are needed for consultations or inquiries by email or phone.
Are on-site alterations available?
We rely on detailed measurements and fittings to assure that a dress fits properly. Alterations are made throughout the fitting process. The final gown requires no further alteration.
Do you offer gown preservation services?
How long does it typically take from the time you order a dress to the time it arrives?
Once a design is approved, it usually takes 4-12 weeks to complete the dress, depending on its complexity and any fitting issues.
Will you store my gown until the week before the wedding? Will it be pressed when I pick it up?
Most brides prefer to have their gown in hand once it is completed. In that situation, and also where the bride receives the gown by mail, we recommend having the gown professionally pressed in the week before the wedding. For those brides who would prefer to have us hold the dress until the week before the wedding, we will gladly do so. The dress will be pressed at the time of pick-up.
Is there anything else you would like me to know?
For those who do not live near our design studio, we consult and conduct fittings via Skype. For example, for each fitting, we mail the garment to you and critique the fitting live over Skype. Then, you return the garment to us so we can make any adjustments or proceed to finish the dress.
