North Portland Bride Brittni von Ahlefeld and groom Morgan O’Toole invited their August wedding reception guests not only to enjoy the natural beauty of Hood River Organic Farm and celebrate their love, but to complete a work of art. Von Ahlefeld’s close friend and collage artist Kristy Charroin (kcharroin.blogspot.com) created a collage using photography, oil paint and Formica. “Brittni decided to have the collage act as a guestbook,” says Charroin. “Each piece of the photograph was numbered to correspond to a position on a wooden board. We invited guests to draw pieces at random from a canvas bag, write a well-wish on the back, and add it to the board.” As guests added their messages, a completed image of the newlyweds emerged. Now that’s a picture worth a thousand words!
