Carina and Trey share a love for all that Mother Nature does – and that enthusiasm was on full display before, during and after their Portland nuptials. The two met seven and a half years ago at the University of Utah and, when they found themselves back at their alma mater a few years later, Trey got down on one knee on a hike in Moab. With the guidance of Alston Mayger Events, the couple was able to have the wedding they always wanted within the limitations of what is safe during a pandemic. Pomarius Nursery served as the backdrop for the ceremony, and the couple would have been hard-pressed to find a more nature-minded locale. Carina and her father put their woodworker hats on to create the ceremony arbor, which was draped with white fabric and swathed in greenery and monochromatic flowers: white roses, dahlias, lisianthus, scabiosa and stock. Jodi Iverson Florals tied the ceremony space together with interspersed greenery and glass vases filled with bouquets that mimicked that of the bride. Similar floral sensibilities were brought to the reception at the Blockhouse. Runners made of silver dollar eucalyptus made their way down the dining tables while place cards of actual leaves lent an eco-friendly touch. Carina wore a plunge neck gown with an appliquéd bodice from Blue Sky Bridal while strappy silver heels added a bit of sparkle. Trey, for his part, opted for a sage green bow tie, a subtle nod to the lush greenery that defined the celebration. As the day came to a close, there was no denying that the event – rich with family, love and the natural beauty of Oregon – was nothing short of perfection.
