Puppy Love: How to Include Your Dog in Your Wedding
This Oregon couple put their pooch center stage on their big day.
For many couples, pets are family—really cute and furry family that deserve a special place in a wedding day. While some couples assign their pets to the position of ring bearer, Kyle Liljegren, 28 and Alli Graham, 33, let Reggie, their shy 1-year-old pug take center stage. Their July wedding in Eagle Crest Resort featured guests’ choice of red velvet, chocolate or confetti pug cake pops as wedding favors, alongside a framed photo of Reggie captioned, “Thank you for coming to my Mom & Dad’s wedding!” Kissing-pugs salt and pepper shakers on the cake table also served as reminders of their favorite canine. Last but not least, Reggie posed in some wedding-day photographs sporting an interchangeable bowtie—including one shot in which photographer Jerrad Miller superimposed a giant Reggie chasing the terrified bridal party. “We wanted him to share the day,” says Alli. “It showed our guests how important he is to us.”
