Danylle & Andy

Sept. 5, 2010 at Old Laurelhurst Church and Portland Art Museum

After exchanging vows where they met, at Southeast Portland’s Old Laurelhurst Church surrounded by over 150 guests, avid cyclist Andy knew he didn’t want to hole up in some limo or SUV to get to their reception across the river. “I wanted to be festive and party with friends and family from start to finish,” he says. Luckily, his bride Danylle and their posse were game for a two-wheeled procession through the streets of Portland, along the Willamette, and across the Hawthorne Bridge to the Art Museum downtown. Because layers of white satin don’t mix well with spokes, the newlyweds rented a Dutch cargo bike from Southeast Portland shop Clever Cycles and decked it out with flowers and the requisite jangly mess of cans tied to the back. Danylle hopped in the front and her new husband pedaled her away—trailed by almost 40 friends.
