Erin & Brian

Oct. 22, 2011 at Bullards Beach State Park in Bandon

How They Met: After meeting on, Brian and Erin met in person in 2008 at Yur’s, a dive bar in Northwest Portland, and afterwards dined at nearby Le Happy where they chatted over savory crepes. How He Proposed: During a trip to Bandon, Brian convinced Erin that they needed to take their border collie puppy, Ramona for a walk, and the trio headed for a pier overlooking the ocean. It was a perfect ruse until Brian got down on one knee with a ring in one hand and Ramona’s leash in the other. How They Wed: A year later—and again in Bandon—the couple wed in front of their closest friends and family at Bullards Beach State Park during a sunset ceremony that topped three days of activities including karaoke and a crab feed rehearsal dinner. Erin walked down the aisle escorted by her father while friends played “Here Comes the Bride” on kazoos. Awaiting his bride at the altar, Brian looked spiffy in his 1960s gray pinstriped suit from Erin’s vintage clothing shop, Lodekka. Afterward, family and friends gathered at a beach house, where they enjoyed the twilight, a bonfire and a singalong late into the night. How They Live Happily Ever After: A fun-filled honeymoon in New York City topped off their wedding celebrations. Back home in Northeast Portland, Brian runs a solo law practice in downtown Portland. Erin operates Lodekka out of a vintage double-decker bus parked along trendy North Williams Avenue, and is a singer in the Stolen Sweets, the popular Portland swing-jazz band.
