In the Bines: Host Your Wedding Amid Hop Vines

Raise a stein for this vineyard alternative: At Rogue Ales’ farm in Independence, beer-loving couples can marry amid the hop vines, also known as “the bines” of a hops field. Located on the edge of the Willamette River, 20 miles south of Salem, Rogue’s 1,200-acre farm highlights the mid–Willamette Valley’s long tradition of beer making. “Our surrounding hop farm, gardens, pumpkin fields, hazelnut and cherry orchards make for an unforgettable and unique experience, rich in history,” says Brett Joyce, president of Rogue Ales and Spirits. If the bride and groom prefer to be inside, the rustic charm of the onsite James and Franny Coleman Convention Center creates a lovely setting for an indoor ceremony and reception. Rogue offers bar service and catering with custom menus. Other amenities include table and chairs, linens, servers, boat ramp, shuttles and even horse-and-carriage rides. As for the wedding toast, leave the wine glasses at home.
