An outdoor ceremony at The Aerie at Eagle Landing in Happy Valley gave Courtney Sexton and Michael Mehrens the effortless and classic June wedding they had envisioned. Their simple decor and soft palette of white, gold and blush tones kept the focus on the couple’s journey and commitment to one another. The special day included many intimate details, such as a ceremony in which the couple sealed notes to each other, along with a bottle of wine, in a custom-made box, to be opened on their first anniversary. Courtney’s veil was hand-embellished by her aunt, and the groom’s cake paid tribute to Michael’s favorite baseball team, the Chicago Cubs. “It was important for us to have meaningful details that really showcased who we are together, as well as the support we received throughout the years from family and friends,” says Courtney. “Our wedding day was everything we could have dreamed of and easily the best day of our lives.”
