Barely There Bridal Gowns: The Hottest Trend of 2016

Trends
New York Bridal Fashion Week unveils more than just layers of tulle and swaths of organza.

As thousands of gowns sashayed the runways of New York's Bridal Fashion Week, there was one defining trend we couldn't help noticing. Echoing what we've been seeing on the red carpets, the industry's top bridal designers opted for a little less fabric and a lot more transparency using decadent lace, whisps of tulle, delicate beading and...not much else. Everyone from Monique Lhullier to Claire Pettibone embraced the look of luxurious lingerie, ranging from the subtle to the not so subtle, as we saw with Miss Vera Wang's latest collection, who's blend of edginess and elegance never fails to spawn shock and awe. As demure takes a backseat to the racier designs of 2016, we'll be interested to see which of these looks make it to the mainstream. Below we've rounded up a few that made us gasp with both delight and astonishment.
