When planning this styled shoot at The Portland Studio, photographer Anna Harris of Anna Caitlin Photography envisioned a ’70s-inspired look paired with fresh, modern elements to create a free-spirited, one-of-a-kind design. Harris teamed up with Bend-based planner The Indigo Bride and florist Small Yard Flowers to bring this playful vision to life. Dream Cakes in Portland created a lovely single-tier red velvet wedding cake with cream cheese filling. Dehydrated oranges and fresh figs dipped in edible gold adorned the autumn-inspired confection.

Neutral tones of cream and beige intertwined with shades of ochre, burnt orange and green create a beautiful, rich palette. Texture, movement and beautiful photography all work together to embody a modern version of the bohemian 1970s. The couple’s autumn-inspired wardrobe ties it all together: the bride in a champagne boho-chic BHLDN bridal gown from Anthropologie, and the groom in a corduroy ensemble from J.Crew and floral tie.

Relaxed yet undeniably charming, the ceremony setting features a pretty backdrop of handmade ivory paper streamers, an ode to the ubiquitous ’70s fringe. Floor rugs and greenery lend a laidback ambiance to the space, making for a truly unique spot to say “I do.” Charcuterie platters from P’s & Q’s Market include grilled vegetables, cheeses, nuts, fish, fruits and other delectables. Vintage decor and vegan eats contribute to the autumn-devoted color palette, with edible flowers scattered among the platters.

The groom wears a beautiful flower crown that mirrors the design of his bride’s bouquet. “I am trying to encourage the trend of groom flower crowns and more groom involvement in general,” notes Harris. The invitation suite by The Scribblist in Portland showcases gorgeous hand-painted watercolor calligraphy in a omantic shade of amber. Flecks of gold and modern typography add a sophisticated, fresh feel to the textured paper and neutral tones.

The bride carries a breathtaking bouquet full of texture and movement, crafted by Small Yard Flowers. Beautiful blooms and foliage surround a fruiting fig branch to create this stunning floral element. The bride draws all eyes in a gorgeous long-sleeved gown with a deep neckline and floral embroidery. A perfect tribute to the free-flowing fabrics of the 1970s, the dress pairs beautifully with natural-looking makeup and hair by Portland Makeup & Hair in Portland.
