The Bindery Event Space
Located in the heart of Oregon Wine Country, in Downtown McMinnville, The Bindery was once part of the community newspaper’s bindery operations. The 100-year old industrial warehouse has recently been restored by building owner and fourth generation owner to the newspaper, Chelsey Nichol, to create a light filled, modern mixed-use venue that highlights the property’s industrial past.
Across the street from the Atticus Hotel, The Bindery is a convenient venue for couples planning their wine country nuptials. My entire experience with the Bindery was a DREAM. First, Chelsey is incredible to work with and made everything so seamless all the way from the start of the planning process, working and communicating with other vendors, up until the last-minute details prior to my big day. Working in the wedding industry myself, I am well aware that not all venues are easy to communicate and work with, and I can say with full certainty that I have ZERO complaints with my experience here for my wedding day. The space is impeccable and serves as a gorgeous blank canvas to decorate in any style for a wedding day (or any event for that matter). Its large enough to accommodate a big wedding entourage (we had about 50 people present for our ceremony and then about 100 more for our cocktail-hourstyle reception. We loved the flow of the space that encouraged our guests to mingle! There is a lovely lounge space outside of the bathrooms for guests to hangout in if they wish to get away from loud dancing and we had guests enjoy the beautiful weather outside of the garage door too. The layout of the Bindery space itself is perfect for any event!
We had a great time doing our rehearsal dinner at the Bindery! Chelsey was a pleasure to work with and set up the space very nicely, even though we gave her pretty minimal instructions. It was like she read our mind! She was also very accommodating on requests about setting up catering and drinks in particular ways. If you're doing an event in McMinnville, the Bindery is a great place to host it!
I had my wedding reception at the Bindery this fall and it could not have been more perfect. The owner, Chelsey, was very accommodating and it went off without a hitch. I would recommend this space for anyone looking for a reception venue in the downtown McMinnville area, the location is perfect. The space is incredible and easily held all of my 100 guests. We had enough room for a bar, dj, photo booth, appetizer table, welcome table, couch/lounge space, and even a coffee stand. Because this space is very open, there is so much room to breathe and has a great industrial feel (which becomes very charming when the twinkle lights hanging from the ceiling are turned on). This provided the perfect backdrop for the vision that I had in mind, and also gave me the opportunity to choose whichever look desired for the reception which was very liberating. Again, Chelsey was very helpful in making all of these ideas come to fruition. Most importantly I would say is that all of our guests, young and old, were very comfortable. This was a very magical night for me and my husband, and we are both so grateful that we chose to have our reception at The Bindery. I would recommend this space to friends or family for any similar event in the future.
We hosted a rehearsal party for our son's wedding at The Bindery. We had 100 people attend and the space was perfect. Chelsey worked with all the vendors and I didn't have to do a thing. I have received multiple compliments in regards to how beautiful everything looked. I would happily recommend this space and working with Chelsey.
Such a gorgeous urban event space! As a wedding photographer, shooting in this type of creative, industrial space is an absolute dream! Chelsey, who dreamt up The Bindery and now runs it, is a gem and such a wonderful person to work with! Hands down would recommend this to any future weddings!
