From the bride:

From the moment my husband Brandon and I began planning our wedding, we knew that we wanted something intimate and authentic to us. With no bridal party and only our closest friends and family present, we said our I-do’s underneath my favorite willow tree on the creek that I used to play in as a little girl. Being a wedding photographer myself, I am big on capturing sentiment and nostalgia. We wrapped up as much of that as possible for our special day! Our wedding was held on the property that I grew up on which is packed full of the sweetest and most irreplaceable memories. I was helped into my dress by my mom and sisters, in my photography studio which is actually an old converted horse barn. I used to spend countless hours in that barn as a child with my beloved horses, pretending it was my house and playing like little girls do. Being able to spend time in that space on my wedding day was so sweet.

We have a private airstrip that runs through our property and sits just behind where our ceremony took place. I have vivid memories of my sisters and I running outside every time we heard our neighbor start up his 50’s Steerman bi wing plane. We would sit on that hill for hours and watch him take off, land and fly above doing barrel rolls. We were completely fascinated and that love of planes has stayed strong into adulthood for all of us. A kind friend of ours flew in his vintage Cessna and parked in where we said our vows. While the original plan was to be flown in for the ceremony, the summer heat did not allow for it. We were just so happy to have it displayed in our field as another little piece of nostalgia! I hope to someday be able to flip through our wedding album with our future children and tell them all of these stories, spurred on by these pieces captured on our wedding day.
