Spring is officially in the air - can you feel it? Okay, so it may still technically be winter, but the unseasonably warm weather has me dreaming of spring and all the lovely colors, florals and inspiration that come with it. This shoot features a quintessentially spring palette of sage, orchid and blush tones, in addition to soft, stunning details like a hand-painted watercolor table runner, a vintage chest of drawers sprilling with spring blooms, and a bride who looks like a real-life little mermaid (who just so happens to be my favorite Disney princess)! I can't get enough.

As part of our ongoing efforts to provide more resources to Eastern Oregon brides, many of the vendors featured in this shoot are Idaho-based. However, most are located within 45 minutes of the Oregon border, and creative mastermind behind the whole shoot, Heidi Wight’s event coordination team Ira & Lucy, specializes in Northwest destination weddings.

From the coordinator, Heidi Wight, of Ira & Lucy:

"While planning this photo shoot, I was also pregnant with our second son, who to our devastation had been diagnosed early on with a fatal condition. We were told by our doctors that our son would probably live through the full pregnancy, but very quickly would leave us...even maybe mere minutes if he could survive delivery. Planning this photo shoot was both incredibly difficult while juggling the onslaught of grief and the challenges of pregnancy, while also being a lifeline and such a joy and passion. This team of creatives stepped up and were a force of love and passion and the collaboration was incredible! I am so very proud of each of them and all that they contributed and that they trusted in me, even knowing I was struggling so much. Looking back, and the incredible praise and recognition we've received for this shoot fills my heart; as if that love and passion and even grief were poured into all the details.

My desire was to blend the 2014 hues neutral hues of hemlock green and placid blue with pops of radiant orchid and splashes of water color accents. It was important to me to honor the wooded landscape and beautiful flowing rivers that surrounded the area all while creating an achievable, elegant, and personalized feel.

TABLESCAPE: We can't get enough of farm tables as the perfect foundation for a mountain wedding. We hand water colored the table runner and napkin linen ourselves, which was quite the endeavor and so much fun! Vintage plates, flatware, crystal stemware and brass candlesticks adorned the table. I was just ticked to use pewter punch cups and a centerpiece showcasing how antique elements can be such a WOW factor! April, with Open Table Catering, presented a stunning array of cuisine focused on a farm to fork style that we would absolutely suggest for our couples, along with a beautiful signature drink, the Huckleberry Martini.

CEREMONY: My husband and I built the handcrafted mantel and Fallon, the florist behind Flora, perfectly accented the space with draping greenery, pulling out the color palette with eucalyptus, blue hydrangea, and pops of radiant orchid in tulips, peonies, roses and anemones! Gorgeous!

CAKE: Stevi Raff, our cake designer took from our color palette and created a beautiful classic two tiered cake with water color elements, accented with a full peony bloom.

BEAUTY: We were spoiled! Three gowns! The first designed by local designer, Daci. Layers of chiffon and intricate bodice wrapping with a lace edged veil - SWOON! Heartfelt Bridal caused us to fall madly in love with Maggie Sottero, with the "Esme" tulle and beaded gown, as well as the "Sawyer" gown. Our maids, were draped in hemlock green gowns from H&M with blue leather belts - perfection! Behrens Artistry, as always, nailed both hair and makeup for all of our looks! But, nothing wowed us as much as their bold risk with the orchid lip color on our bride! It was stunning!"
