Sparks flew at New Yorkers Chelsea Hamilton and Michael Kovacs’ fall destination wedding at Salem’s Zenith Vineyard. Wanting their “elegant but fun” wedding to make the ultimate impression on their guests, the couple hired Matt Shriner of one-man-band Orwa Pyro in Bend to put together a choreographed fireworks show. “Matt took care of everything,” Chelsea says. “From permitting to the coordination with the DJ to synchronize the fireworks to the music.” After the newlyweds cut the cake, bursts of color shot into the air in sync with the beat and rhythms of their hand-selected songs, Zedd’s “Clarity” and Mumford and Sons’ “Hopeless Wanderer” for an 11-minute pyromusical. “It was something my now husband really wanted, and to be fair, it kind of made the wedding.”
