Describe your approach to wedding ceremonies? I take a very personal, customized approach to creating and designing deliciously individual, beautifully expressed wedding ceremonies which celebrate each couple and their unique love story. Each ceremony is individually crafted with the intention that their wedding will be the most meaningful, memorable, loving, fun and engaging wedding that they and their guests have ever attended.....or perhaps, even imagined!
What type of ceremony do you specialize in? I specialize in creating one-of-a-kind, custom, couture wedding ceremonies which honor marriage equality, faith, tradition and orientation. My sole/soul goal is to incorporate each couple’s words, beliefs and understandings into a wedding ceremony which fits them, “like a glove!”
Are you open to having the couple decide their music, readings and overall structure of the ceremony? It’s their wedding. THEY own it and have complete and total editing rights. Until it’s exactly the way THEY want it, even if they think of something else the morning of their event, it’s not done until THEY say so. The ceremony is the heart and soul of the wedding day. Whether my couple is secular, religious, spiritual, nondenominational, interfaith or multicultural, I carefully listen to their stories, memories, beliefs and intentions. And in a fun, relaxed and collaborative process, we discover the words, music, readings, symbols and traditions with which they most resonate. Then, with great heart (as well as a lot of laughter and sometimes, a few tears!), their custom, created-only-for-them wedding ceremony will unfold precisely the way they envisioned it ~ celebrated in the presence of the ones they love.
What amenities do you have to offer for the ceremony? Some of the amenities that I offer my couples include:
Does the couple need to go through a pre-marital counseling process/interview with you? No. I am not a professional or licensed counselor.
Are the bride and groom able to have a rehearsal the night before the wedding? If yes, would you be conducting it? I love rehearsals and strongly encourage every couple to have one! Hopefully, at a mutually convenient time and place because I prefer to conduct my own rehearsal. Since my ceremonies are all unique to each couple, it’s a given that most venue managers, event planners or day of event coordinators will not know how this couple had custom designed their ceremony, procession or recession.
Do you have any restrictions on videographers, photographers, florists, etc.? I value being a team player and enjoy working with other wedding professionals to ensure that the couple’s vision of their wedding ceremony proceeds exactly and precisely the way they intended. To facilitate team work, I always offer professional courtesy to the other vendors (such as musicians, photographers, videographers, event planners) and send them Cue Sheets for their portion of the ceremony once the couple has signed off on the final document.
Is there anything else you would like me to know? I love, love, LOVE celebrating LOVE! Being an officiant is my MOST favorite thing to do!!!
