What is the capacity of your reception location? The Portland Art Museum can accommodate a dinner for twenty, a gathering for 1,000 or anything in between. The largest of our ballrooms can accommodate a sit-down dinner for 560. There are a variety of venues suitable for smaller gatherings. Our experienced event staff will help you select the most ideal space for your gathering. What is the rental cost and what does this include? The rental cost of spaces at the Portland Art Museum varies just as dramatically as the size and style of our available venues. Rental costs are determined by a number of factors such as space of interest and day of the week. Contact us for further information. Am I required to use your food, beverages, and serving attendants? All food and alcohol must be provided and served by one the Museum’s preferred caterers. The Portland Art Museum has partnered with some of the finest and most trusted caterers in the city. We have a variety of audio-visual combinations from which to choose. Is there adequate parking available? Is there a cost? There are a number of parking lots that charge per hour within a two block radius of the Portland Art Museum. Parking on the street is also an option. We are happy to suggest a valet parking service upon request. Do you have overnight accommodations? No, we do not have overnight accommodations, but we are able to recommend hotels near The Portland Art Museum. What is your closing time? Rental times vary. Our ballrooms are usually available until 2 am. Rental times for the galleries and outdoor spaces are more limited due to public-operating hours and noise concerns.
