Take Out Treat: Wedding Dessert To Go

Trends

When Janine Wei totaled her car in 2013, fortune intervened in the form of Mark Puzas. A former car salesman (now in corporate IT sales), Mark spent an entire weekend helping the figure skating coach find the perfect ride—and proved to be the perfect man, too. Thus, for their November wedding, the couple wanted to share their good fortune by packaging custom-made fortune cookie favors in takeout boxes to set at each place setting during the reception. “I wanted to find a way to nod to my Chinese heritage, but do so in an elegant way that still fit with our color scheme,” says Janine. The traditional red-and-white takeout boxes first inspired her, but clashed with their elegant, gold-kissed decor, so Janine scouted out a kraft paper version online from Webstaurant Store, completing the look by stamping each box with a custom monogram rubber stamp designed by Etsy seller Swak Paper Co.
