Sweet Spots: 3 Unique New Venues

Looking for an unusual wedding venue? We’ve rounded up a few of our favorites for large and small events alike.

Located just steps from Southeast Division’s lauded foodie central, SE Wine Collective hosts events in its working winery space. Food and drink take center stage here as menus include sustainable local ingedients and sips such as Portland’s Jasper Sisco. SE Wine Collective can work with tight budgets and fit 150 guests in the 5,000-square-foot industrial space. 2425 SE 35th Ave.; 503.208.2061

Rebranded and facelifted, Portland’s Governor Hotel underwent a huge renovation in 2014 that restored the grandeur of the 1909 downtown landmark. Now called Sentinel, the hotel’s 11 event spaces, ranging in capacity from 25 to 500, include the ornate billiard room, decked out with antique friezes of birds of paradise and cobras, and a 5,016-square-foot grand ballroom for large affairs. 614 SW 11th Ave.; 503.224.3400

Although Bend’s historic CAPITOL THEATER no longer exists, it has been commemorated as an event space and restaurant in downtown Bend. The Capitol can host events for up to 150 amid retro seating booths, vintage-inspired indoor neon signs and reclaimed-wood paneling that inspire an industrial Art Deco feel. “This is where you’ll have an unforgettable party,” says owner Sean Day. 190 NW Oregon, Bend; 503.995.6001
